I'm a Learning Behavioral Specialist (Special Education Teacher) and I work with the Server and Profound disabled population. I've been with Chicago Public School for over 25 yrs. as a SpEd. teacher. Over the years I've worked on and off and a caregiver with an Agency, mostly in the summers when I'm off the Summer break. We I can contribute to strengthen Water Tower Nursing is my innate ability to give care with professionalism and commitment. I hold a certification as a Lifeguard, CPR/AED, First Aid, Bloodborn Pathogen, Basic Life Supports and my teaching certification.
As a teacher working with the Server and Profound population no two days are ever the same, which is what makes being a caregiver so rewarding. In a classroom of 15 students with most being non-ambulatory, non-verbal and permanently in a wheelchairs, it's a joy to see smiles when I do the dance and sing-a-long routines. The support staff and I move their wheelchairs to the music, it's so much fun to see.
